See The Seven Nigerian Celebs Who Have Done The Dumbest Things For Fame

There’s a general belief that to stay in the spotlight, you must do the unimaginable to keep the buzz around you alive. This is indeed perpetual of celebrities who want to garner attention. After all showbiz wouldn’t be showbiz without drama on and off the screen right?
Celebrities (not limited to these shores) have pulled the most ludicrous stunts to ensure tongues wag and keep them constantly in the news. Thanks to bloggers and the paparazzi, the media always keeps tabs on these attention mongers.
Here is a list of Nigerian celebrities who were caught pants down doing the dumbest things ever. Some are hilarious and crazy. Some have somehow helped define entire careers while others have made them lose faith in the public eye.
Below are the List of Celeb;
1. Skiibii of Five Star records

Who fakes his own death? I mean how low can you go to make a name in the entertainment industry?
Recently the rumors of the demise of Five Star Music act, Abbey Toyyib Elias aka Skiibii spread like wildfire. It was said that he collapsed and died whereas he was pretty much alive. The charade was only a ploy to publicize and promote the 22 year-old’s impending songs. Who does that?
Even more disturbing is the fact that the management of the music label was at the centre of the Skiibii’s “Death Stunt.” Soso Soberekon, General Manager of Five Star Music didn’t only confirm the death on social media, he went ahead to put up a black candle, insinuating that the young lad was indeed dead.
The lead act of the label Kcee has however since debunked the claims.
Note that before the alleged death, Skiibii was a ghost in the Nigerian Music-phere. All of that has changed these days. He featured on the labels song “Ebaeno”. This stupid stunt has earned Skiibii and the entire Five Star Music label a place on our celebrity dumb list.
2. Denrele Edun

Popular media personality Denrele Edun is always on to stir up controversy, thanks to his eccentric personality. Rumors of his being gay keep making the rounds. He caused an uproar on social media by announcing himself as Nigeria’s “Caitlyn Jenner” sharing some disturbing lady-like pictures of himself. Nigerian social media court almost skinned him alive.
Denrele is not half done with us yet, recently he shared photos of himself with an unidentified half naked man in a bathroom captioned: “That moment when the Side Chick is not a Chick!‪”
Could he be finally letting the cat out of the bag after years of denial?
3. Cynthia Morgan

Somehow Cynthia Morgan thought that carrying a baby and smoking in the same photograph was a good way to promote her single. In October, the controversial picture caused a huge stir on the internet. At the end of the day, the verdict of public opinion placed the “German juice” singer in the dock.
4. Moet Abebe

Hot TV personality Moet desperately wanted “him” to put a ring on it so much that she had to fake her own engagement. Hmmmm that is what the celebrity marriage craze is doing to single ladies!
Early in March, Abebe announced that she was engaged. The media took the story and ran with it. Unfortunately it was not true according to several media reports, but Moet Abebe never came out to say it was a hoax. Maybe she was embarrassed by her “stunt gone bad.”
5. Caroline Danjuma

Nollywood actress and wife of billionaire Musa Danjuma is arguable one of the most beautiful faces you’d find in the industry. This young and beautiful mother of two wants to stay forever young so much she reduced 20 years from her age. It’s not a crime right?
The ex-actress celebrated her birthday in June and several sites reported that she turned 34 based on her data on Wikipedia page.
The actress refuted these claims and said she was 28 years old. Interestingly her Wikipedia page was shut down when she gave us a “new age.”
Sorry, Caro you made our dumb list.
6. Oritsefemi and Danku

Involving your mothers for the sake of a publicity stunt is sheer idiocy. The car owner brouhaha and police arrest were not pretty either and admitting it was all a stunt deserves a spanking.
In an exclusive chat with Thenetng,  Oritsefemi says, ‘I’m sorry for whatever we may have caused our friends and fans but now me and my homeboy we are cool now. It was all a publicity stunt’.
Asked about the police arrest and accusations over the past year, Oritsefemi says, ‘my brother the important thing now is that am cool with my homeboy like I said earlier it’s all a stunt and that’s how the industry works. Danku is now part of my management team and I can assure you that there’s no more fight’.
Oritsefemi at the stage of reviving his career after a slump in the  needs to get into studio and deliver what the streets want to listen to, rather than shooting himself in the foot.
7. Harrysongs

So, our man Harrysong became a dad recently and his first daddy duty was to steal. Our man shared a photo of some babies everyone later discovered weren’t his and his excuse; he reposted the first picture on the IG account, set up by his baby mama, assuming the babies on there are his. Sir, here is our verdict for whoever told you that lie would fly, the person[s] should be stripped and flogged till their butt turns yellow, then red and then green.
Why would your woman share fake photos in the first place? Why did you not get the real photos upon their delivery or at least few minutes after? Why didn’t you confirm before making the announcement? Your excuse of grabbing the first photo seen on the account and assuming the kids are yours is just downright dumb, who makes such assumptions?
